Building on the success of this year’s junior summer program, English Outdoors is launching two new products for summer 2023: an English & Music package (alongside the classic English & NYC Discovery package), and a student residence located in the heart of Brooklyn Heights for an immersive experience in the city.

The English & Music package will appeal to teenagers with an interest or a passion for music. It is the best of both worlds: an afternoon schedule divided between music classes and activities to see the best of NYC.

The music component takes place at the Brooklyn Music School on 3 afternoons per week, where students will receive instruction in small groups from teaching artists in different genres such as Rock, Jazz, World Music… Students will get to learn the fundamentals, practice, rehearse and perform a final recital in BMS’ 100 year old historic campus.

On the other 2 afternoons, they will join the popular NYC Discovery program with other international students, and will also take part in the full-day excursion by ferry to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island.

The new student residence is located in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn’s most central and vibrant neighborhood, only 5 minutes' walk from one of the best views of the New York skyline from the Brooklyn Promenade. Students are just 3 minutes’ walk away from the restaurant where they have breakfast and dinner everyday, and 6 minutes’ walk away from the junior meeting point where they meet teacher and classmates every morning.

This residence is the perfect alternative to the homestay option, giving young students easy access to all activities taking place each day, and only one subway stop from Manhattan!
